Drop Off

September 2nd,  2020

Greetings Wildcat Families,

I am thrilled to tell you that with our staff back in the building this week, the excitement is building towards our students returning next week.  We are deeply engaged in reviewing safety procedures and participating in professional development training to improve our instructional practices.

The purpose of my letter today is to confirm our school schedule for the next three weeks and review our new arrival and dismissal procedures.  I will begin with the school schedule for the next three weeks:

Week 1 - September 8th-11th

  • School will start at 8:20 and dismissal will begin with buses at 2:50.

  • There will be NO late start on Wednesday, September 9th

  • Kindergarten families will be coming in for scheduled visits but not attending school.

  • Grades 1-8 - Students will be attending school in-person two days.

  • Group A (Mon/Thurs) will attend this week only on Tuesday and Thursday.

  • Group B (Tues/Fri) will attend this week only on Wednesday and Friday.

Week 2 - September 14th-18th

  • School will start at 8:20 and dismissal will begin with buses at 2:50.

  • Kindergarten and Pre-K students will begin attending school in the hybrid model.

  • All students in Group A (Mon/Thurs) will attend on Monday and Thursday.

  • All students in Group B (Tues/Fri) will attend on Tuesday and Friday.

Week 3 - September 21st-25th

  • School will start at 8:20 and dismissal will begin with buses at 2:50.

  • All students in Group A (Mon/Thurs) will attend on Monday and Thursday.

  • All students in Group B (Tues/Fri) will attend on Tuesday and Friday.

Week 4 - September 28th-October 2nd

  • All Pre-K-5 students will begin attending school 5 days a week.

  • We will begin staggered arrival and dismissal times.  In order to balance our student numbers in the building, all students will be assigned to an early or late group.  The early group will be in school from 8:20-2:15 and the late group will be in school from 9:20-3:00.  Student assignments to these groups will be shared next week.

  • Wednesdays will be late start for PreK-5. (Grades 6-8 do not attend in-person on Wednesdays).  The early group will arrive at 9:20 and the late group will arrive at 10:20.

In the following link you will find our arrival and dismissal procedures clearly outlined.  As you can imagine, this will be a new learning process for us all.  Please remember that at every arrival and dismissal time we will only be dealing with half of our student population.  This reduction in numbers will make these procedures doable.   Link -  Families- Arrival/Dismissal

Lastly, I want to thank you all again for your patience as we have worked to make this school reopening as safe and engaging for students as possible.

Stay Safe,

Mr. Libby and Mrs. Dimbleby
