Welcome to the Phippsburg Elementary School's webpage! We are a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school serving 100 plus or minus students. Currently, our class sizes range from ten to eighteen. Phippsburg students are fortunate to learn in an intimate environment where talented and caring adults can provide individualized attention to meet each student's needs.

Our goals are continual student achievement and assisting children to grow into well rounded, socially conscious and happy students. Many opportunities are available to meet these goals. Teachers collaborate with outdoor educator, Mary McCauley, to integrate and utilize the PES outdoor classroom and provide hands on, experiential learning opportunities for students in a variety of subjects.

At each grade level students travel off campus to participate in many field trips to such places as Bates Morse Mountain Preserve, Head Beach, boat tours on the Kennebec River and many more! Some of these trips are made possible through the generosity of our many community partners such as the Phippsburg Elementary School PTA, Phippsburg Land Trust, Bates College and KELT.

PES is also committed to student wellness. We have been named a 5, 2, 1, 0 Let's Go Gold Medal school for five consecutive years. Students are provided with a thirty minute recess each day. Our school nutrition program offers a healthy breakfast and lunch that are prepared on site. Every effort is made to incorporate local products, including syrup from trees tapped on our grounds, into meals.

Phippsburg is a community that is committed to its school, and making sure that its children have a wide array of learning experiences. Everyone is welcome at Phippsburg Elementary School! Our doors are always open, and I welcome your feedback.
