PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Welcome to the Phippsburg Elementary School's webpage! Phippsburg is a small public school located on the beautiful peninsula of Phippsburg, Maine. Phippsburg School provides students and families with life long learning opportunities; through hands-on differentiated instruction, we strive to meet the needs of all our students who walk through our doors. We are a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade school serving roughly 100 students. Currently, our class sizes range from ten to eighteen. Talented and caring adults provide an individualized educational experience, where we strive to ensure our students are successful.
Our staff and community is dedicated to ensuring that all students achieve high standards of excellence, that they develop personal characteristics of kindness and perseverance, and that families are a part of students' every day growth. Whether students are learning in our outdoor classroom spaces, in the classroom, or engaged nearby in coastal field studies, staff members are committed to meeting the needs of each individual student so they grow into well rounded, socially conscious and happy students.
At each grade level, students travel off campus to participate in many field trips to places such as Bates Morse Mountain Preserve, Head Beach, Kennebec River boat tours and many more! Some of these trips are made possible through the generosity of our many community partners such as the Phippsburg Elementary School PTA, Phippsburg Land Trust, Bates College and KELT. Contact the school to learn more about how you could donate to student learning experiences at PES.
PES is also committed to student wellness. Students are provided with a thirty minute recess each day, as well as movement breaks throughout the day. Our school nutrition program offers a healthy breakfast and lunch that are prepared on site. We love to incorporate local products, including syrup from trees tapped on our grounds, into meals.
Phippsburg is a community that is committed to its school, and making sure that its children have a wide array of learning experiences. We value our community members - please reach out if you would like to be involved at PES.
This is sure to be a year of learning, risk taking, community building, and FUN! What an amazing place to learn and grow!
