NEWS FROM THE NURSE

Two weeks ago, RSU1 nurses sent out a letter related to holiday safety to all families.  Small indoor gatherings are contributing to the rise of COVID-19 cases.  Please keep the following in mind, as you make plans for the upcoming November and December breaks:

  • If you and your family travel outside of the State of Maine to a state that is non-exempt from the quarantine restrictions, you will need to quarantine or test negative for COVID before returning to school/work.  Keep Maine Healthy FAQs

  • If you have guests arriving from out of State, will they monitor for symptoms before visiting, test negative for COVID, and observe the 14 day quarantine upon arrival to Maine?

  • If you are planning a gathering, the CDC has a number of considerations, which include: offering outdoor seating, checking COVID-19 infection rates where your guests live, asking guests to quarantine 14 days before the event, physical distancing, and requiring masks.

Please call the PES nurse, Mrs. Tainter, if you have any questions about sending your student back to school after the upcoming breaks.  And be sure to see the attached Additional COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions for Parents, which is different from the October 2020 FAQs.
