Good Afternoon Phippsburg School Families,

This morning at Phippsburg Elementary School, after consulting with Chief Skroski, our students and staff sheltered in place for approximately two hours. During a "shelter in place" situation, we remain inside our school with all doors locked. This was undertaken after we were notified by Chief Skroski, who was working with the Sagadahoc County Sheriff department, Marine Patrol, and the Maine State Police who were responding to a safety concern in the area. While teachers were advised to shelter in place, students were not aware of the situation. Our morning proceeded without interruption, and we were able to follow all of our routines.  I would like to thank Chief Skroski and the other law enforcement agencies for keeping us up to date throughout the ordeal, and for keeping us safe.
