100th Day 2023 and it's 57 degrees at recess today! Enjoy some great photos, thanks to Mrs. Polizotto, Mrs. Tardif, and Mrs. Woodbury. You can see we had some good laughs when our 1st and 2nd graders, and their teachers, dressed up as 100-yr olds for the 100th day of school.

Here are a couple preschoolers sharing their love of reading. Remember Read-A-Thon pledge sheets and money are due Monday, February 27th. Any checks should be made to Phippsburg Elementary School or PES. Thank you for your support!

“Spreading the love” Mrs. Smith asked for volunteers to fill the halls with love and kindness, fifth graders Adeline Belanger, Alyssa Giggey, Ayla Otis, Sloan Hersom, Sophie Rowan & Sunny Rowan all eagerly volunteered and even gave up their recess to participate. Decorating messages in the spirit of Valentine's day this group of fifth graders put great effort into crafting beautiful messages to cheer up the students at Phippsburg Elementary School. They can be found all around the school saying things like, “Follow your dreams” “you are loved” and “Be kind.”

Ms. Smith shared her photo of another student reading for the Read-A-Thon. And Mrs. Hutchinson shared a few photos of her third graders and their parents at their publishing party last Friday.

Mrs. Williams shared some photos of second grade's visit to the Maine Maritime Museum yesterday. We hope everyone is having fun with the Read-A-Thon, and recording their reading time on their reading logs. Here are a few photos of staff enjoying their books.

Students are reading for this month's Read-A-Thon, "For the Love of Reading." And we've included some photos of the 4th & 5th grade field trip to Merrill Auditorium to listen to Wabanaki Stories today.

The students wrote their ideas on how to bring peace to the world on snowflakes for the Martin Luther King Jr. Peace Tree in Library this week.

From Mrs. Tardif: Today we read How To Catch a Snowman. Then we mixed up puffy paint with glue, shaving cream and glitter. The first graders created their own snowmen!

K-5 Mad Science Last Call Happy New Year! In order to have Mad Science before school deliver their fun Mad Lab Medley program at PES, we need 5 more students to participate. The program is scheduled to begin next week, January 11 thru February 15, 8:15AM-9:15AM. In order to know whether they will have the program, they typically need about 10 days notice.
